Gold-filled jewelry features a thick layer of 14k or 18k gold pressure-bonded to a brass core. More durable than plated gold and affordable than solid gold, gold-filled jewelry maintains its shine with proper care and is safe for sensitive skin. 14k gold-filled pieces contain 5% solid gold by weight, while 18k gold-filled pieces contain 3% solid gold composition.
